The book Bright Midnights by LS Delorme. The book is laid flat on a cream coloured blanket.

Hello Readers,

Today is the first day of the Bright Midnights by LS Delorme Book Tour and rather than a review of the book from myself, the author has kindly put together a piece for you to find out more about her books and the series in general. The tour runs from today, the 2nd of October, to the 16th and you can find all the details at the end of this article.

Before we get into the main section of this article, let me share the synopsis of Bright Midnights, so you know a little more about the book:

“Amelie has always been different.

Most high school students find life challenging but 17 year old Amelie has a lot more to contend with than typical teenage angst. Ever since she turned 11, others have been irresistibly drawn to her - with tragic consequences. Her only escape is at night when she flies to different times and places through her “dreams”. Her life begins to change when, on one of her flights, she meets Clovis, an alluring and mysterious young man who hides a secret.

As Amelie finds herself increasingly drawn to him, she learns his story, how it intertwines with her own and finally discovers how to live her life in the real world. Until her own secrets are revealed to the wrong people and that world turns upside down.

Bright Midnights is the second in the Limerent Series and continues in the though provoking and beautiful style of the first as it considers different dimensions, different ways of looking at the world, and the transcendental power of love.”

So now here’s some things that author, LS Delorme, thinks you might find surprising about her Limerent Series:

Five Things that Might Surprise Readers about the Limerent Series:

  1.  Across the whole series there is a blend of genres.  All the books have an element of suspense, fantasy and romance, but in different concentrations.   However, the whole of the series also integrates science, mysticism, espionage, quantum physics, convert organizations, the nature of evil, love it all its forms…and high school.  One beta reader said, “It has the romance beats of Twilight, a relatable “voice” like Stephen King and the thematic arc of His Dark Materials.”

  2. The series can be read from a very basic story level to a complex analysis including lots of easter eggs.

  3. There are multiple “worlds” represented in this series, the adolescent world, the legal world, the scientific world, the medical world, the technological world, the metaphysical world and the supernatural world, to name a few.  Each of these “worlds” intertwines with the others in ways that are sometimes obvious and sometimes far from obvious.  I’m an obsessive researcher, so if I didn’t know a world through my own experience, then I buried myself in books about it.

  4. The series has seven books.  The first two books, Caio and Bright Midnights, seem like they are different stories in that they are different casts of characters.   In this way, it doesn’t really matter which one of these is read first.  All the characters merge as the series continues.

  5. The first two books start out as small in scale and intimate.   But as the series continues, it grows significantly in scale and themes.

Thank you so much to Literally PR for gifting me this book and giving me a place on the Book Tour and a huge thank you to LS Delorme for putting together this piece for me and giving your readers / future readers some insight into the Limerence Series.
