Buddy Reads

Hello Readers,

My book club, originally named Blathers’ Bookworms, came into being back in the summer of 2020 when a friend I’d made through an Animal Crossing community we are a part of started chatting about books. During a conversation about the book, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins, they mentioned how much they missed book clubs and so we decided to start our own within the Animal Crossing community we were a part of.

We officially launched the club in September 2020 with our first meet up being held on my ACNH island at the end of that month and to our surprise, there was about 5 of us and we spent a good couple of hours chatting about books and numerous other things. Then in October, we chose our first Buddy Read Book ~ The Midnight Library by Matt Haig.

The book club is now in its fourth year and has undergone a change of location and name ~ it now finds it’s home on my own Discord Server and is now called Oakwood Reading Society. We’ve chatted about and read many books during our meet ups and I thought it would be nice to share all our buddy reads here in this space, in case anyone is interested in knowing the types of books we’ve been reading and maybe you’ll find your next five star read from this list!
