The Logos Prophecy by Martin Treanor | Book Tour Review

The book The Logos Prophecy. It's on a gold stand and next to it on either side is a faux plant, a wooden toadstool and a candle.

Hello Readers,

It’s my turn today on the book tour for Martin Treanor’s The Logos Prophecy. The tour started on the 26th of January and runs to the 15th of February and if you’d like to read the other participants reviews, then you can find all the details at the end of this article.

But before I tell you my thoughts on the book, let me share the synopsis from the back of the book, so you know what The Logos Prophecy is about.

“Ary Long is a conspiracy theorist, Jordan Burke is a science guy - and never the twain shall meet… until, through chance encounter and a bizarre symbol, their lives take an extraordinary turn.

Thrown together by a mysterious group and hunted by their bitter enemies, the unlikely pair scour the globe searching for the roots of the ancient symbol, uncovering the reality behind the existing world order and the arcane, metaphysical wisdom known as Logos.

13,000 years of exploitation. 3 months to put it right.

History is not what you believe.”

When I read the synopsis for The Logos Prophecy I was so intrigued as it seemed quite different from the books I usually read and I wasn’t disappointed. This book is full of mysteries just waiting to be figured out by two equally interesting main characters ~ Ary and Jordan. I liked their diverse backgrounds and aside from all the creepy, crazy and sometimes dangerous situations they go through within the pages of this book, they felt authentic in their reactions to what they were uncovering and being asked to do. Their opposing world-views work nicely and for the most part they were respectful of each other’s views and opinions.

I personally liked Jordan as a character more than Ary but that’s mainly because Ary is, shall we say, quite colourful in her choice of words and I’m not a fan of a lot of cursing in books ~ I did find it amusing that a couple of the other characters in the book also mentioned that she likes certain swear words a lot. What I did love about Ary is that she’s written as a strong female lead and took charge throughout many of the situations the two found themselves in. Whereas being the more logical thinker, Jordan was a little hesitant at times, which, like I said, felt believable and probably how many people would react if in the same situation.

The small cast of supporting characters were all written well and I liked that we got to know some background on them and their place within this world. The interactions between these characters and Ary and Jordan ranged from fun to heartbreaking and almost everything in between but again, for the most part, they felt realistic.

As for the plot of the book, I found it really interesting; though I did have a couple moments where I felt like too much was happening and I was trying to take in a lot of information at once. It took me a minute to figure certain things out and get certain people straight in my mind as to who they were and what everything meant ~ and this is coming from someone who mainly reads heavy Science Fiction for fun! So yeah there are some “information dumping” moments within this book but they weren’t unnecessary in anyway, especially when it came to telling you about world events as it added to the “time is short, we need to act now” aspect as you head deeper into the story.

I also really enjoyed the adventure side of the story; Ary and Jordan travel to a few different historical sites in a few different countries in the space of a very short time and I loved the “treasure hunting” feel this gave the story and I felt Martin Treanor did an excellent job of describing not what these places were like but also the atmosphere of them and at times it felt like I was right there with them.

So overall, I really enjoyed this book and if you’re looking for something a little different, with conspiracy theories tied to ancient civilisations and characters that need to save the world, then I’d recommend giving this book a try. It’s also the first book in a series and I’d definitely be interested in reading the second book when it’s published.

Finally, I just want to say a huge thank you to Literally PR for sending me this book and giving me a place on the tour.

Stay Safe. Read a Book.
